This weekend, the BEC was busy with two volunteer opportunities for excellent community organizations. First we met at Barnes and Noble, where we helped hand out bookmarks that when scanned at the register, donated 20% of the customer's purcahse to the Gallatin County CASA/GAL program, which plays a vital role representing children in the court system. The fundraiser was an excellent opportunity for the CASA program to get the word out about the crucial work they do, and fun for the kids as well! The event coincided with a children's book launch, and the star of the book, an Alpaca named Rosie, was there to greet the kids!
After we got done at Barnes and Noble, we set up shop at the Bozeman Children's Museum lemonade stand at the 41st annual Sweet Pea festival. There, we helped serve hundreds of ice cold lemonades to thirsty festival goers, with procedes benefitting the museum and STEAM lab, where Bozeman kids can go to do everything from learning how to program while playing Minecraft, to 3D printing whatever comes to their imagination.
We had a great time giving back over the weekend, and look forward to working with both of these excellent orginazations in the future!
